I have been practicing in the East Bay for the past 17 years. My office is centrally located in Oakland, off of Park Blvd. between Glenview and Monclair. On your first visit, I will evaluate your overall condition and health history, ask about accidents you’ve had, stresses in your life, and what are your daily activities? You will be given an EMG Test which takes only a few minutes; it’s painless and measures muscle tension in your spine.

You get a computerized print out showing areas of tension and overall spinal imbalances. I refer to these results during the diagnostic exam and you can have a copy of the results to take home.

The physical exam includes a posture analysis, orthopedic and neurological tests such as range of motion evaluation, palpation of muscle and joint health (palpation is a hands on technique to detect joint movement and areas of stiffness and tenderness). You may be sent for x-rays when appropriate, but I don’t take x-rays as a routine part of an exam. I will give you a treatment, which lasts about ½ hour. I incorporate gentle and effective chiropractic techniques, modalities, and massage. Every patient is unique so I have different ways of working with my patients depending on their needs.

At the end of the treatment, we schedule a follow-up visit where I will go over the results of the exam and recommend a treatment plan.
